Al Waxman - Delivers

Quick Links: Rant in Our Forums -

exclusive Press Release.

Ok news slunk out earlier so we will have to give you the full rundown.

---------------------------------------------------------------

"The Many Moods....The Many Shades of Al Waxman", coming to you soon, exclusively from House of Spam.

It's a red letter day for all you fans of Al's much imitated , but rarely bettered leathery growl.

Bask in the warm glow of 12...count em...12 tracks from Al's extensive repertoire.

Hand picked by the great man himself, it covers a sea of ever changing emotions, hear him interpret the tunes that made the world what it is, and as an added bonus it features two of the maestro's self penned melodies.

-----------------------------------------------
Track 1-
Al is Joined by the remaining members of Booker T and the MG's for a white hot run through the funk classic..."Papa's got a brand new clasp bag", Steve Cropper whaling in on the lead guitar, Al reclaims the king of Soul crown back from James Brown with a series of wild yelps and bizarre grunts.

Track 2-
If that doesn't shake your money maker....look out..."he's comin ta getcha" on a psychedelic freakout version of "Purple Haze"...move over Rover and Let Waxie take over.....it's 1969 all over again.

Track 3 -
Time to take it down a notch as Al ruminates on love won and lost, with the tender Ballad , "sorry seems to be the hardest Word", I defy even the most cold hearted flamer not to wince at the alarming vocal gymnastics contained in the songs Coda..

Track 4 -
We stay down beat with an achingly long and bowel loosening version of the Foreigner Classic..."I want to know what love is", featuring some of Al's signature Harmonica riffing....naturists have long compared his harp playing with the sound of an Asthmatic Elk...a treat to be sure.

Track 5
Proof you can't keep an old Rocker down...It's "the Final Countdown" , Waxman Style...Al takes Europe's Journey man Synth Pomp rock, and makes it his own, Ladies you can taste the sweat on the walls of the Vocal booth.

Track 6
The first of Al's self penned numbers , the Vanilla Smooth Philly sound of, "Mary-Beth I need report on My desk by Morning", specially produced exclusively by Hall and Oates, it just glides off the turntable.

Track 7
With Waxman , each twist and turn is as unexpected as a brick round the back of the skull...expect the unexpected and Al delivers...In Spades...with his easy skankin' virtuoso clamber through a tight window and into Marley's, "Trenchtown Rock"....Al shows exactly why the Jamaicans know him simply as -
"de ganja-man".

Track 8
"who left that cake out in the rain"....not Al that's for sure but he hits previously scientifically unheard of levels of sonorous ecstasy on his version of "Macarthur park"...prepare to be amazed...then slightly Nauseous, we may not have the Recipe but Al read the back of the box last.

Track 9
Al never stands still, not unless there is a running buffet with free wine, so it's no surprise to hear him expand his musical Palette into new and Challenging Areas. Here in the second Self Penned Track , "Victor Isbecki aint no CopKiller", he embraces Rap and Hip hop for the first unforgettable time.

"da precinct Rocks When I be in the House, Christine be a Woman not a MoFo Mouse"
Chilling.

Track 10
A tender duet with Billy Tops joining Al for a vile rendition of "the way we were"....the uncut Fade out of the Tubercular hacking from Billy gives us a unique , never before seen insight into the recording process.

Track 11
It's balls to the wall, pedal to the Metal time as Al lashes out a stellar live version of the Stooges Classic "search and Destroy"... Iggy may have been a "street walking cheetah with a head full of napalm", but Al shows us he's definitely a "retired TV Actor dozing in the sun on a lawn chair after too much wine with Dinner".

Track 12
What Waxman Long Player would be complete with out his Keynote delivery of "wind beneath my Wings"...recorded Live at the Lollapalooza here a new generation of street tough skate kids fall under the magical spell of the Old Rogue.

"A Stone Cold Classic" - Greil Marcus

"first there was Elvis, then the Beatles...now there is Waxman" - Jan Hammer

"I have seen the future of Rock and Roll and It's Al Waxman" - Debarge.

Available in LP, cassette or 8 Track Cartridge
