Reg..I have only just seen this.
For that I feel guilty.
You have to give this thing 10 hours, trust me, they are 10 hours well spent, you will never ever look back.
Head down that hill and hike to a major city, trust me son...the combat at first feels so hack and slash, but the subtleties arise after a while and you will be amazed at this initial reaction.
